Other things I’ve done as an Indie Author that I didn’t know were things.

Read my book for the EIGHTH TIME all the way through and I have to do it TWO MORE TIMES and I LOVE my book but omg it makes me want to type in all caps. I am so glad I wrote a relatively short book, like, for real.

Registered my business with the state of Oklahoma because after reading the “Self-Publisher’s Legal Handbook”, I learned that I really need to file for sole proprietorship.

Read a book called “The Self-Publisher’s Legal Handbook” because y’all it’s a jungle out there and I have not got the skills yet.

Commissioned my hand letterer to do the lettering on my spine. Because of course that’s a thing. Why did it not occur to me.

Upgraded my website so I can figure out how to do some sort of book selling plugin.

Asked my editor for an extension on my deadline for turning in my second book to her. I know logically that she’s fine with waiting until it’s not a total hot mess, but whew, my anxiety wants me to be on time.

Cried, I literally CRIED, during a particularly sweet scene in my book that I’m so tired of reading but absolutely love.

Found myself at a TOTAL impasse as far as writing a dedication goes.

Get yourself an authorship coach. Do what they say.

Hello! I'm an aspiring author of humorous books about space gays and alien invasions. I might occasionally toss in a dragon or mermaid, and I can't wait to share my weirdness with the world.
